New album! [10 Jun 2009|02:45pm]

Hey guys!

is anyone else as excited as me for stellastarr's new album?!?!?!?! it's called "Civilized" and comes out july 7th.

i can't stop listening to "grafitti eyes". if you havent' heard it, you should pick it up on iTuneshere! it's one of my all time fave tracks by them. "tokyo sky" sounds pretty good too, they put a clip up on the myspace. listen to it here.

if you preorder the album, you get "freak out" for free! you can also pre-order a bundle that includes an autograhed copy of "civilized", a poster, and an exclusive t-shirt: get it here!

Hey, I'm new. I just want to say I enjoy singing along to stellastarr more than I do any other band. I wish I could see them in London in a few days time but I'm too broke so I'll have to wait for their next UK tour *weeps* I'm so gutted!

I actually just became a fan of Stellastarr* two whole days ago. I bought their CD because it was cheap, listened to it, then discovered later that same day that they were coming to do a show in Maine. That show is tomorrow, and I simply cannot wait until it's arrival. I do adore Stellastarr* very much so. They are like no band I have never heard before. I am looking forward to seeing them preform live.

saw stellastarr about a month ago down in Newport, KY and got the chance to chat really quick with them while they signed a tshirt for my son, who wants to be a "rockstar like Arthur". My son is enamored with the drumming, the twirling of the sticks, the funky ass sunglasses and the noshirt electric tape thing. (shutterfly disabled hosting, so I can't post pictures of him wearing his signed shirt) They are not only fucking talented, but amazing people as well. shawn was so sweet to sign a poster and shirt for me even though he was sick with the flu and I had accoseted him on the street as he walked to the hotel.....and can i just say how GOOD he looked for having the FLU??!! ;)

stellastarr* has amazed me since the moment I heard them. And they amaze my kids (who are 5 and 2) as well. My Coco is the hit around here, but there isn't one song I can say I don't like. I can't wait until they come back around again!!!

yay! i saw stellastarr* with the killers at the cotton club in atlanta. that was on the 25th! it's the second time i've seen them. first was with placebo!(rock) it was great of course! i was front and center which was very cool. they sounded great and looked great! naturally! i wanted to meet them but i didn't. waited around for awhile but i was so tired that i left after about half an hour. they opened with in the walls and closed with the pulp song! played a new track i'd never heard and an old song too! beautiful show!

[ mood | energetic ]

I discovered Stellastarr* in December at a Placebo gig in Atlanta. I'm a huge fan of Placebo and I was a bit impatient when SS* came on because I wanted to hurry up and get to Brain and co!!

BUT, this band blew me away! You know that feeling you get in your chest when a song climaxes and just knocks you out? That's how I felt during their opening. The same feeling I would get when I hear a song that I love dearly and know by heart, except I didn't know any of SS*'s songs...they just affected me greatly! So beautiful.

I didn't have the money to buy a CD at the show but we did get to greet a couple of members of the band who were wandering around their merch table.
I just recently bought a copy of the CD offline used. I love it!!!

Yay Stellastarr* :)
Hopefully I'll get to see them again when they come back to Atlanta in a few weeks!

I was at a friend's house last
night, and she had the radio on.

What did I hear? Stellastarr*!

They played My Coco, and people
were supposed to call in and vote
for them or The Muse?

I didn't stick around long enough
to know who won.

Lots of great news [30 Jan 2004|07:14pm]

Firstly, I need to share this picture of Mike, which I found today on the StellaStarr* site (www.stellastarr.com). Awww, so cute! :D

Secondly, if you haven't been getting their mailings, let me be the first to tell you that SS* will be having their first headlining tour of the US when they get back from the UK in March. Make sure you get your tickets early so you don't miss out (like I did on the Placebo tour, dammit. :P)

Also -- I was very excited to see on the SS* site that they will be rolling out the message board function on their site THIS WEEKEND... so I hope to see some of you there!

Lastly, if you haven't yet heard the very positive review of the SS* album posted on NPR's All Things Considered the other day, make sure you roll over to the www.NPR.org site and check it out. They mispell the band name, but besides that it's a great review with lots of song excerpts!

"We gave you the cards, we gave you something to say..." [21 Jan 2004|01:19pm]

[ mood | annoyed ]

Hi, I just heard stellastarr* for the first time a few weeks ago. The In The Walls video was on MTV2 in the background and I only noticed it at first cause for a second one of the polaroids of the guitarist looked very much like a polaroid of me so I got a bit of a shock and wondered what I was doing on TV. A second later I realised he looked nothing like me but that it was an amazing song. I went out straight away and got the CD. In the Walls is still my favourite but I don't think there's a bad song on the album, I love it and play it all the time.
However I'm well pissed off that they're just gonna play England in Europe - I want them to come to Stockholm. I'm contemplating going to London to see them but it'd be so expensive.
Ah well I can just hope that some time in the future they'll venture this far north...

hello all. just joined. heard about this amazing band like 4 months or so ago on, suprisingly enough, mtv or mtv2. something like the new faces show or something like that. it had teitur on there, if any of you cought it. anyways, i hadn't heard anything else about them for a while until a friend started talking about them with me. so i finally got the cd and was totally blown away. such a new, innovative sound. and now i can't put the cd up for long without pulling it back out. :)
so hi, nice to be here. thanks!

[ mood | peaceful ]

I just got the Stellastarr* cd
today from my brother for Christmas.

I saw them December 8th & 9th
(as mentioned in my previous post)
and thought it was fabulous.

Stellastarr* has become one of my
favorite bands, probably second or
third to Placebo.

Yeah, this is pointless.

I love the album, though.

I would have seen them
October 13th with the Raveonettes
but I had a previous engagement I couldn't
back out of.
It would have been worth it if I could, however.

stay entertained [13 Dec 2003|10:06pm]

i'm bummed that this wasn't on the album. i love this song to no end. "school ya" also rocks my socks. you know you've got a great band when even their b-sides are mind blowing.

lets hear stories/reviews of the placebo shows! what were the openers? closers? any interesting on-stage banter?
